Goldman Sachs Lawsuit Will Rearrange The Game on Wall Street
On Thursday, President Obama will go to New York to deliver a speech to Wall Street’s financial elite. He will lecture them. He will be stern with them. And he will use phrases to describe the creation of trading exchanges for derivatives that will carry great meaning for those whose job it is to write about such things. When his speech on financial reform is over, the rest of us, especially many of us who are African American, will turn the channel, or click on the next C-Span video, or wait until the guy on Comedy Central gives us the short, funny version, and then be on our way, as if these things don’t really concern us.
We would be wrong.
