What does that mean to you? If you haven’t filled out your census form, you need to take ten minutes to answer the ten questions on the form and send it in. Why is it such a big deal today? Because April 1 is the day that the U.S. Census Bureau uses as its baseline to measure the population of the nation. And because, according to this map, if you live in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, West Virginia, New York, or Alaska, your state’s participation rate in the 2010 census is below 50%.
